Tokai Challenger, the Tokai University’s solar car, won a championship in the solar car race held in Australia. Three Saudi students studying in the university’s science and engineering department joined the team and worked together with Japanese students to lead the team to the championship.

H. R. H. Princess Lolowah, the Vice President and General Supervisor of Board of Trustees at Effat University, was awarded an honorary doctorate from Tokai University for her contribution toward the education of Saudi women in the field of technology. As improvement in women’s education is essential for Arab nations, Effat University’s efforts in establishing a program in women’s education is highly appreciated and expected to be a good role model for other institutions in the Arab world. 

The cultural office opened a website in Japanese language that introduces the life of King Abdulaziz, the founder of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in commemoration of the 81st anniversary of the nation’s foundation.
